Railway turnout special connection and support plates are engineered components used in turnout (switch) areas to ensure rail fixation, load balance during transitions, and long-term track geometry stability. These plates are manufactured to fit rail profiles (UIC 54, UIC 60, R65) and sleeper types, maintaining the integrity and safety of the railway system. To increase impact resistance, wear strength, and torque capacity, they are produced from high-strength steels such as S355JR and 42CrMo4.
During the design phase, each project’s turnout type (e.g., tangential, symmetrical, asymmetrical) and frog angle (1/9, 1/12, 1/18) are considered. Custom connection and support plates are modeled in 3D CAD environments and verified through static analyses. Manufacturing is carried out in compliance with EN 13230-6 and UIC 865-1 standards. Plates are produced either by welding or casting methods and coated with hot-dip galvanizing or electrostatic painting for surface protection.
These products prevent rail deformation under load at turnout transition points, ensure that fastening components(bolts, clips, nuts, etc.) remain securely positioned, and minimize system maintenance requirements.
