Cable Car and Ski Resort Poles

Cable Car and Ski Resort Poles

Cable car and ski lift poles are the main load-bearing structural elements of cable transport systems used in mountainous regions, tourist facilities, and ski resorts for passenger and cargo transportation. These poles are made from high-strength structural steels (S355JR, S460NH) designed to safely withstand tension and cable loads. Their design and production comply with EN 1090-2, ISO 898-1, FEM 1.001, and the EU Ropeway Directive 2016/424standards. Before production, engineering calculations are performed based on cable tension, wind and ice loads, carrying capacity, and site topography. To enhance corrosion resistance, the poles are hot-dip galvanized or electrostatically coated, ensuring long-term surface protection.

Applications:

Cable car poles are used in ski resorts, mountain hotels, tourist transport lines, and urban cable car public transportation systems. They form a complete transport line infrastructure along with maintenance platforms, cable pulley systems, carrier beams, and anchor connections. Through a project-based engineering approach, parameters such as line length, slope ratio, carrying capacity, and environmental conditions are analyzed to determine the optimal pole type and load capacity for each facility.

Each project is supported by static, dynamic, and vibration analyses in accordance with its geographical conditionsand safety regulations. This ensures a safe, efficient, and long-lasting cable car infrastructure suitable for demanding environmental and operational conditions.
